Who I am
I'm [PLACEHOLDER_AUTHOR], the founder and author of TheMoneySheet. I build the calculators and write the explainers here.
Relevant experience
I've spent years working for myself as a 1099 contractor — invoicing clients, tracking deductible business expenses, and managing the money side of a one-person business. That first-hand experience with the parts of self-employment nobody warns you about is what shaped this site. I know how confusing and high-stakes freelancer money math feels, because I've had to figure it out for myself.
What I do on TheMoneySheet
I author the calculators, the plain-English explainers, and the methodology behind them, working only from primary IRS and SSA sources. I don't sign off on the tax math myself — that's the job of our credentialed reviewer (see the reviewer bio). My role is to make the numbers understandable and honest; theirs is to confirm they're correct.
